The Miracle of Engineering 2

The biggest ship in the world a semi-submersible heavy-lift ship, or also known as a "flo/flo" (for float-on/float-off), has a long and low well deck between a forward pilot house and an after machinery space.
Used for the heaviest, and biggest of things needing transport.
Semi-submersible ships are the only vessels in the world which provide the capability to load, transport and offload extremely heavy cargo, such as oil drilling rigs, gas refineries or even warships.

Its ballast tanks can be flooded to lower the well deck below the water's surface, allowing oil platforms, other vessels, or other floating cargo to be moved into position for loading.

The Miracle of Engineering 1

The biggest Wind Farm in the world called "Horns Rev" located 20km from the cost of Denmark. There are 80 turbines with 110 tall each and capable to produce 160MW.

Horns Rev uses Vestas V80 2MW turbines, which have an 80m rotor diameter and 70m hub height, and weigh between 439 and 489t each. The wind farm generates enough electricity for 150,000 private homes, or nearly 2% of Denmark's total electricity consumption. It cost DKK2bn (about €270m).

The Horns Rev site stretches over 20km², with 560m between each turbine. The Vestas turbines have a cut-in wind speed of 4m/s, reaching full power at 13m/s and cutting out at 25m/s. Expected annual output is 600,000,000kWh.

Horns Rev represents the first phase of Danish efforts to produce non-polluting electricity from offshore wind turbines. The Danish government has said it would like to see the country's offshore wind turbines producing about 4,000MW of electricity by 2030. In Sweden, the government similarly hopes to increase wind power capacity significantly over the next ten to 15 years.

USA & European countries banned on OREO cookies consumption!!!

OREO CONTAINING TRANS FAT BRINGS DAMAGES TO HEALTH

An attorney from California filed a lawsuit against Krafts, stating that OREO produced by the
company not only causes damages in health, but also dishonestly promote their products;
requesting the company to halt the sales of OREO in the market.

OREO contains hydrogenated oil or Trans fats, to prolong the storage of the biscuit, but at
the mean time increase the consumption of BAD CHOLESTEROL, increasing the possibility
of diabetes and heart disease.

INCREASE IN CONSUMPTION OF CHOLESTEROL

Although the research on Trans Fats affecting health has not been concluded,
the national institute of science research states that any amount of Trans Fats consumed is not safe.

Solar Eclipse on August 1, 2008

The solar eclipse that took place on August 1, 2008 was a total eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.039 that was visible from a narrow corridor through northern Canada (Nunavut), Greenland, central Russia, eastern Kazakhstan, western Mongolia and China. It belonged to the so-called midnight sun eclipses, as it was visible from regions experiencing midnight sun.
In Siberia, the total eclipse zone passed through populated places, including the "capital of Siberia" Novosibirsk, and the cities of Nizhnevartovsk, Barnaul and Biysk. The greatest eclipse duration was reached near the town of Nadym in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in Northern Siberia.
A partial eclipse could be seen from the much broader path of the Moon's penumbra, including eastern North America and most of Europe and Asia.

SOLAR ECLIPSES: WHY ECLIPSES HAPPEN

Solar eclipses happen when the Moon blocks the light from the Sun
During a total solar eclipse, the sky appears as dark as night, and you can see the Sun's glowing corona

A solar eclipse occurs when the Sun, the Moon and the Earth all line up. The Moon blocks the light of the Sun, and casts a shadow on the Earth.

TYPES OF ECLIPSE

  1. Partial - A partial eclipse happens when the Moon passes in front of the Sun, but does not cover it completely
  2. Total - A total eclipse occurs when the Moon covers the Sun completely. Only a small region of the Earth will see a total eclipse, but observers in the nearby regions see a partial eclipse.
  3. Annular - If the Moon is further away from the Earth than normal, then it will not appear large enough in the sky to cover the Sun. The Sun appears as a ring with a dark centre.
  4. Hybrid - A hybrid eclipse is one which appears as a total eclipse in some parts of the world, and as an annular eclipse in others.

Amazing Facts About The Human Body ( 11~15 )

11. In 30 minutes, the average body gives off enough heat (combined) to bring a half gallon of water to boil.
12. A single human blood cell takes only 60 seconds to make a complete circuit of the body.
13. A foreskin, the size of a postage stamp, from circumcised babies take only 21 days to grow skin that can cover three (3) basketball courts. Amazing isn’t it. Thanks to science. The laboratory-grown skin is used in treating burn patients.
14. The eyes receive approximately 90 percent of all our information, making us basically visual creatures.
15. The female ovaries contain nearly half-a-million egg cells, yet only 400 or so will ever get the opportunity to create a new life.

Amazing Facts About The Human Body ( 6~10 )

6. The largest organ in the body is the skin. In an adult man it covers about 1.9m2 (20sq ft). The skin constantly flakes away - in a lifetime each person sheds around 18kg (40 lb) of skin.
7. When you sleep, you grow by about 8mm (0.3in). The next day you shrink back to your former height. The reason is that your cartilage discs are squeezed like sponges by the force of gravity when you stand or sit.
8. The average person in the west eats 50 tonnes of food and drinks 50,000 litres (11,000 gallons) of liquid during his life.
9. Each kidney contains 1 million individual filters. They filter an average of around 1.3 litres (2.2 pints) of blood per minute and expel up to 1.4 litres (2.5 pints) a day of urine.
10. The focusing muscles of the eyes move around 100,000 times a day. To give your leg muscles the same workout, you would need to walk 80km (50 miles) every day.

Amazing Facts About The Human Body ( 1~5 )

  1. The stomach’s digestive acids are strong enough to dissolve zinc. Fortunately for us, the cells in the stomach lining renew so quickly that the acids don’t have time to dissolve it.
  2. The lungs contain over 300,000 million capillaries (tiny blood vessels). If they were laid end to end, they would stretch 2400km (1500 miles).
  3. A man’s testicles manufacture 10 million new sperm cells each day - enough that he could repopulate the entire planet in only 6 months!
  4. Human bone is as strong as granite in supporting weight. A block of bone the size of a matchbox can support 9 tonnes - that is four times as much as concrete can support.
  5. Each finger and toenail takes six months to grow from base to tip.

Good Morning JCB!

Nampaknya, pengumuman bahawa harga bahanapi akan diturunkan menyebabkan JCB fuel station menjadi sesak sepanjang 40meter di mana pemandu-pemandu forklift berebut-rebut mengisi minyak !
